A digital hub for Gloucestershire business

The challenge.

The Growth Hub Gloucestershire has helped over 14,000 businesses to realise their potential and maximise growth through an array of expert Business Support Services. All fully funded by the UK Government.

The organisation’s website had unfortunately lost pace with what was needed to effectively promote and expand its value offering. Outdated design, poor user experience, and fragmented functionality combined to provide a poor first impression alongside little reason for business customers to return.

We were thrilled to be selected as the Growth Hub’s new Digital Partner following a thorough selection process involving over a dozen agencies. The project demanded a wide range of skills - website design and build, technical consultancy and integration, copywriting, and project management - and experience to ensure a smooth and timely delivery.

Our solution.

What became apparent early on was the number of stakeholders and their varied priorities from the new website.

We facilitated a thorough project specification process, through project team and stakeholder briefings, user engagement questionnaires, and technical and work process consultation.

The delivery subsequently demanded finding the optimum balance between clarity of message, design and user experience for a number of different website visitors. From early stage businesses that are seeking business support to returning customers booking onto events or looking to engage with a business mentor.

Central to the website is a seamless two-way exchange of information between the client’s CRM and the site itself - built through bespoke coding and integrated within the WordPress environment. Which has helped streamline our client’s management of customer website engagements, whilst providing a robust foundation for future evolutions of the website.

The results.

Success of a digital project such as The Growth Hub Gloucestershire’s website cannot be measured by any single metric.

The fully refreshed design ensures a consistent brand experience alongside the organisation’s offline marketing and communications material. User experience has improved dramatically compared to the previous website, with significantly quicker page load speeds, clarity of messaging and ease of access to information. Event attendance can be booked in two clicks, with the customer’s details automatically verified.

In addition, the new customer account dashboard, which will continue to evolve, provides an increasingly personalised experience and more reasons for users to return.

We’re thrilled to have received glowing feedback from multiple stakeholders at The Growth Hub Gloucestershire and look forward to delivering new functionality inline with their development roadmap for the website.

“What's often overlooked on passion projects such as this, is all the added value that materialises from working with a team that understands what you do, and what you're about. Achieving an independently verified accessibility score of 94% (three times the average) is just one of many measures that demonstrates how aligned our values are. The Lines team is exceptional at what they do, and what's more, they genuinely care about the results."
